Rafting is a fantastic adventure. Not only does it get your adrenaline pumping and puts you right in the present moment, but it also allows you to experience the region of Costa Rica you could not see otherwise!
SAVAGE RIVER RAFTING
Among Manuel Antonio River Rafting Savegre is king!
This exciting, family-friendly full-day excursion is a one-of-a-kind white-water river rafting adventure with several benefits.
In the Manuel Antonio region you find world-class, internationally-trained, multilingual guides and safety kayakers that professionally lead and educate you on how to manage thrilling river adventures as the Manuel Antonio specialist.
With your guide, you and your fellow rafters will work as a team to build your way up to a stunning yet achievable trip – collaboration makes the dream work. Finally, you and your crew will be perfectly content and thrilled to have experienced one of Costa Rica’s most famous rivers, the Savegre.
Begin with a 4×4 journey through Costa Rica’s beautiful rainforest, passing into more secluded sections of the Savegre.
Your tour begins in Silencio, a small rural hamlet known for its cooperative community and rich history.
After a “bumpy road” drive, we will stop at a typical Tico restaurant where you may order the cuisine you wish to eat for lunch just after the tour and use the bathrooms before the real experience begins. The bus then heads for the winding mountains and the start of this white water river rafting trip.
The Savegre River has Class II, III, and IV rapids that are doable in solid rafts that can easily carry 2 to 6 persons. The river guides know the water flow very well, so they will occasionally let you plunge in the water and just float with the river, allowing you to feel the strength of the current safely and wonderfully.
The guides usually have something interesting up their sleeves that will surprise you and make you grin. On the route, you will stop at a spectacular and strong waterfall to take a dip and eat some wonderful fruits provided by the guides.
You may get to see egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, king mackerels, cormorants, and a variety of other animals native to this protected region of primary tropical rainforest.
You will arrive at the finish line after a steady 13-mile journey down the river and rewind your way to the little settlement of Silencio, where our delicious meal “Tico Style” awaits us. Our happy, well-traveled, and now experienced Savegre River rafters take a leisurely ride back to Manuel Antonio.

NARANJO RIVER RAFTING TOUR
The Naranjo River White Water Rafting challenge is suggested for physically fit adventure seekers and experienced rafters comfortable with Class III and IV rapids.
The expedition begins as the Naranjo River dips precipitously from the Costa Rican highlands and surges through spectacular rainforest gorges on this high-octane, half-day excursion.
It then takes you on a thrilling, exciting trip down to sea-level waters, winding through jagged twists. While your internationally-trained, multilingual guides and safety kayakers guide you along this thrilling river, you will travel through picturesque farmland, working cattle ranchers, and breathtaking African Palm Plantations.
The Naranjo River Rafting Trip, unlike the Savegre River Adventure, packs all of its punches into a 7-mile journey that will keep your adrenaline pumping for several hours.
Water levels on this Costa Rican jewel of a river may increase quickly, especially during the rainy season (May-October), leaving just a little margin for error for any experienced rafter.
After an adrenaline-pumping adventure, relax with local food and refreshments before returning to reality… or, at least, back to Manuel Antonio. If you’re moved by our ever-changing adventures out here, you might feel tempted to return for more.
